A four-volume print and digital master plan for a Toronto neighborhood, culminating of 18 months of intensive public consultations.

Approach

First and foremost a proposal for Toronto, the plan is also intended to provide a new urban toolkit for the digital age and to spark the imagination of cities around the world tackling the challenges of diverse, equitable, and inclusive growth. Across 1,500 pages, the plan outlines a new vision for how cities can integrate physical, digital, and policy innovations to produce dramatic improvements in quality of life.

Role

As a lead for the Public Realm chapter, I delivered a section on environmental design and weather mitigation from first draft through publication. This included steering our partnerships with external architecture and climate consultants, writing copy, collaborating with our editorial and design teams to translate technical content into an engaging narrative, producing visuals and layouts, and composing a 186-page technical appendix.
